Very sad to just hear that Richie Havens has passed at age 72. Besides being a great musician and person, perhaps the greatest salesman of Guilds ever..

So sad to hear. Thanks for the music and for championing the Guild cause, Richie Havens.

Back in the sixties when I lived in the East Village, I made several trips to visit him with a mutual acquaintance. Unfortunately he was never home, so I missed him then and will miss him more now.

My all-time favorite performer.

Just a decent human being who always went out of his way to connect with his audience.

Talking Brooklyn, Bed Stuy, and Open-D backstage with Richie the week after I retired:

RIP. One of my inspirations for sure. His interpretation of Dylan's "Just Like a Woman" is furious and sublime.

Very sad. He was such a wonderful and gifted man. A mentor. An inspiration ( Who continues to inspire at so many levels) and a great musician with such a powerful , yet gentle voice. Folks like him make to world a better place...and his voice will be missed.
Thank you Richie.
