Zelja, That would be my pleasure. I'll bring a few of mine, of your choice and I reckon we'll have a great Guildy time. Give me a lil while to get my stuff together here and we'll organinse a mini Guild meet up! :wink:Zelja said:Thanks John. Happy days indeed! Your welcome to come by & try it.
Thanks TF. Steve is very proud to receive the nomination. And (shameless plug) if anybody needs a personal trainer or soccer coach in the Northern NJ region then PM me!Thunderface said:Great score, Zelja. And let me forward the nomination of NJ brother of Zelja as LTG Sibling of the Year!
I actually found that on ebay & got it sent to him, so he's not actively looking for stuff but if I see anything for you I'll let you know. I love how a birth year guitar gives you added justification to spend more money! :lol:guildman63 said:I am from NJ, and while I am currently living in MA I still have family and friends in NJ, so if your brother finds any more gems like that, particularly in the same year (also my birthday year) feel free to refer him to me and I will gladly drive down and pick it up. Btw, I have a search request in WTB for just such a birthday guitar, so please everyone keep those collective eyes and ears open for a fellow LTG'er!
Needs to be done! PM me when you a re ready & we'll make it happen. I've already had a few get-togethers with hagmeat (which caused me to get S-100 GAS) & have a few more planned.southernGuild said:Zelja, That would be my pleasure. I'll definitely try another bridge with it & have considered the bigsby. By some fluke does the appropriate bigsby use the same 3 screws & tail pin as the mounting bracket of the harp tailpiece? Would any more screws be needed? I would want to avoid drilling into this beauty.billydlight said:WOw! love that red burst! Bigsby it up. I use the compensated bigsby bridge with D'Addario 11's
Yes, I read something a while back by a well respected guitarist (can't remember who at the moment, but to paraphrase, he said 'I spent years trying to make all my guitars sound the same, only to realize the beauty of having different guitars was to have access to a variety of sounds.'Zelja said:You know I'm probably guilty of trying to make every guitar sound close to my "ideal" tone - I think it's probably good to let the guitar be itself & not change anything like you say.AlohaJoe said:Great guitar! The condition is really good and the reddish burst is remarkable. If you like the 'dark smoky tones' and can also get a brighter sound you like from mixing in the bridge pup you have a very versatile instrument... I wouldn't change a thing. Congratulations!

You should throw Doozyman an offer on his '63 X-175 Deluxe. That thing's the coolest!
Double wow ! Does this mean we're brothers? Welcome to the forum & yes, get some pics up!JazzBoxJunky said:Wow, I have this exact Guild one serial number later!
JazzBoxJunky said:Wow, I have this exact Guild one serial number later! Mine came to me with black knobs, although I do have a set of amber knobs if it should require it. Hans?
Hans, any idea of the date or month when the serial numbers was given or the guitar was finished (the guitar in the OP)? Long shot I know...hansmoust said:Both your guitar and the subject guitar of this thread have early '63 serial numbers

If he's considering selling I may just do that. What kind of pups are on it?
