Would you cover the thru-holes? I think they're lined with some bushings on mine; I'll have to look. I'd think they'd have to be removed. Probably no big deal.
I think you would have to remove the bushings, not sure how hard that would be. Otherwise the bridge would not fit on them. And sure you still have the 6 holes visible on the back. Closing them is probably an overkill. But everybody can do what they like to do...

Chazmo veer of the day... Are bushings and ferrules the same thing? I always get confused about that nomenclature... Is there some distinction in usage between those two terms?

"As nouns the difference between bushing and ferrule is that bushing is a type of bearing, a cylindrical lining designed to reduce friction and wear inside a hole, often used as a casing for a shaft, pin or hinge while ferrule is a metal band or cap placed around a shaft to reinforce it or to prevent splitting."

So I guess bushing is correct in our case.

Which part of it do you like???
I like the body, its black style. I like the fact the strings go through the body, for more vibration in the body itself, kinda like some telecasters. Then I like that is has only one pickup and one knob. Really tests your ability to make one pickup and one knob do it all, so helps your craft.

I look at potential new acquisitions as a different tool for my kit. I feel if I am to have many guitars then each should be different. I don’t need 3 of the same model in different colors. So for instance, this would fit the bill, because with only one knob and the string through body versus wrap around tail piece and two knobs, it’s even different from my SG jr. and so all of that is what I like about it :)

Of all the guitars I have, none of them are single pickup. I've always liked the sound of the neck position pickup, either alone or with another pickup (S-S-S, S-S-H, H-H).

I like selecting the bridge pickup alone for distorted rhythm guitar and twangy lead parts. But guitars with only one pickup in the bridge position never appealed to me for some reason.

Eye and ear of the beholder of course. I think it’s pretty cool, goth and similar to Spinal Tap Smell the Glove…How much blacker can it be be?….none blacker! I’d miss the tone knob but that’s what amp eq is for. Put a Floyd Rose on this thing and EVH would have dug it!

Actually Tungsten is grey, not really black. I'm a big lover of Tungsten.
Correct, you see it best against the black hardware and TRC:

I like the single pickup Polara. Would be cool if it came in other colours, or just not so "black"! A P90 would be good as well, you could change it to a single mini humbucker! I also like the single volume/tone models.

Calling that a Deluxe is insulting, but them Guild never did care about historical names.
