Beautiful axe brother. Good to see the CT guitars getting out, and with a correct pick guard to boot.

I am praying that the New Hartford folks did come to their senses! I would be so happy if they continue the old pick guard style.

Bill, there are two 12 strings on eBay which were picked up recently from New Hartford, and they too have the traditional shape.

I will have to check them out. My wife has hinted that a new F512 may be under the Christmas tree this year!

I would give up one of my kidneys for a brand new Connecticut F512. But my 2005 Tacoma D55 is more than sufficient for awhile! I can hardly put her down!

I'm getting a lump of COAL under my tree, and William63 is getting a F512. Somebody has been very good this year!!! dont think the folks at New Hartford would trade me , a fine guitar for my kidney.... Me and DV52 will sit in the corner and play an ode to the worlds injustice! I do believe that there IS some 1977 MAHOGONY in my Christmas future! Soooo..............alas the world CANT be SO BAD!

Hmmm. The pickguard variation is interesting.

I've sent my FMIC rep some pictures and SNs of the pickguard variations I've found on the web.

I've seen F412s with both styles.
I've seen F50-Rs with both styles.

Funny enough, the 3 F-50Rs with later serial numbers (starting with NM28XXXX) had the traditional Guild pickguard on there.
The F-50R in this thread is the exception, as its SN starts with NM161XXX, yet it still has the traditional pickguard.

Of course my sample size is extremely limited, but I'd like to hope that they decided to make a change late in production to the older guards.

Anyways, I'll let you know what FMIC comes back with as an official response.

i think Christmas kind of came early for me this year, so i'd best lower my expectations for December.

If you get a chance, I would love to see an inside shot of the bracing of your new F-50R, like what we've got pics of at http://letstalkguild.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=15401&start=0

I'm curious to see what changes have been made, if any, from Tacoma.
i'd be happy to. i'll post something by Wednesday, if not before...
here you go. i didn't have any natural light, so hopefully the flash is o.k...
