look what arrived yesterday! she's perfect. looks and sounds just gorgeous. and yes, i even like the new pick guard. ;)

there were a few moments when i was hitting some full open chords, and the overtones and sustain were so amazing it almost sounded like i was playing a 12-string.

it was really hard to put her down long enough to take some photos, but i did, because i knew i'd be in trouble otherwise...

That's one beautiful guitar, Acid.
Of course, the thing I noticed right away is the pickguard! The new F50R photos that I posted a few days ago showed the new style that I don't care for and yours shows a more traditional look, which I like. I wonder what's going on. :?:

Either way, congrats on you new baby! Bet I know how you'll spend a bit of time on Sunday!!

Super score,
Joe

not sure. i can tell you this guitar basically came almost direct from the warehouse to me. mine may be the only hands that have played this outside of the factory, which is kind of cool. 8)

but maybe they got enough feedback on the pick guards that they've changed them back...?

Sounds like a sweet day to me. Wish that my Dad were still around for some of that scotch and music mix, and maybe throw in a little Sunday football in the background....with the sound turned down a tad.

Have a great day and enjoy the time with your Dad!!

thanks! that's exactly it. line up a few bottles of scotch, grab the guitars, and turn on some golf (spring / summer) and/or football (fall) in the background, whichever is more interesting at the moment.

good bonding time with my dad. :)

i'm sorry your dad isn't around to do likewise... :(

decided to do some precise dating based on the serial number: NM161005

according to the new system, 'N' means it was made in New Hartford (which i do realize the label also *says*), 'M' means it was made in 2009, '161' means it was made on June 10th, and '005' means it was the fifth instrument built that day.

kind of fun to know exactly "when and where", as opposed to my F30, which is a "very high probability it was built in 1970" type of thing. not that i'm afraid of a little mystery, mind you. ;)
