Inmoderate or intolerant?

Should any LTG thread that mentions another forum more than twice be closed and locked?

I wouldn't mind petty rules if there were rules clearly spelling out we can't talk about other forums. But.. I don't see it written anywhere. Maybe I should search harder.

I though deleting old threads about LTG was just.. I dunno. Don, was there some bad blood between AGF and LTG at some point?

Is there any truth to the rumour widely circulating, that when we get a new site.......All Post counts revert back to Zero.

S'ok, everybody currently registered and active will be awarded Bitcoins on a one-for-one basis.
So be sure to post early and post often.

I started a thread on AGF asking why the threads about the status of LTG were locked and why it was a problem. The moderator removed the thread and sent me a pm..

we feel it is inappropriate to bring up other forums here. Thanks for understanding.

Doesn't seem very neighborly.

 That moderator at AGF seems to be really afraid of other forums! What a single minded point of view he has. So intolerant...Glad I am a LTG member!

Wow. Just wow.

Just to be clear, I am not making a serious suggestion and was just trying to poke a little fun at the moderators and/or rules at AGF. Clearly I was not as ironically humorous as I had expected.

That just doesn't make sense. People mention the UMGF forum over there all the time; they even give advice how to join. What's happened to those guys?

Do we know if this is AGF wide or is this moderator specific?

I think it might just be this rlouie guy. Not really looking to argue with the guy, but he basically said that they are not the table of contents for all other guitar forums, and that they don't want to have other forums advertising or using the AGF to do their forum business, or something like that. I deleted all his pms, so not sure of his exact words. I asked him about the numerous UMGF threads exactly like the thread someone posted wondering about the status of LTG.

Just seems a little odd. And rude. Not exactly sure how that type of thread would upset the delicate balance of the AGF, but it must have.

Well, I'm not the one paying the hosting bills, so I can't say much. :)

Although.. I was a paying Chartered member for a while. Don't think I'll renew anytime soon.

I could understand a forum not wanting advertisements on other forums such as LTG advertising on AGF about contests or forum donations or similar maters. But I do not understand deleting posts of members asking what happened to an offline forum.

Not to my knowledge. I've never been a member, never had any communication with, & never really had interest in being involved over there. There's no question about any instrument that I haven't been able to get answered by the great folks here!

Several years back, there was some ridiculous stuff going on at the Fender forum, & members here were being locked out or deleted there. I had been a member there for awhile too, never had issues with anyone, but discovered my membership had been removed as well. To each his own I guess....

Forums that I've frequented, have really enjoyed, & would recommend are the Gretsch Pages, & the Telemodders.

Well, if we find the other forum to be petty and intolerant, we must do all we can to not be like them. We're just not like that...... are we?

I don't think we are.

Rise above.

I'm so glad to be back here with my friends. I didn't enjoy my time over there.

Don't make me find another hobby..... okay??

No we're not, Tom. Look at the poll. Not a single yes vote!
