Inmoderate or intolerant?

Should any LTG thread that mentions another forum more than twice be closed and locked?

AGF was very intolerant, if not just downright rude. RL jokingly mention that there were so many inquires regarding the LTG outage that "it should be a sticky". He could've done that as a show of good will

I am not a member of AGF, but in searching for an answer on what was going on with LTG, I saw that "locked" thread there. Looks like they are afraid if someone goes to LTG, they may not return to AGF - we should take it as a compliment!

The notion is ridiculous. What is the purpose? Is there competition? I know where this came from. It is from what happened on AFG. Over there on AFG. OOOPPPPS! Thread closed.

Here is a senario:

Original Poster: Anybody know the bracing on a 1978 Guild D40?

Poster 1: I don't, but check the losers over on LTG. They may know.

Poster 2: Yeah check with LTG.

Moderator: Thread closed. No soup for you.

It is a preposterous notion. AGF is a general acoustic guitar forum and ideally should show allegiance to no brand. If acoustic guitars is the topic of interest then I interpret that as all things acoustic which includes brand specific forums.

In the spirit of demonstrating how much more class we have than "the other guys", I checked "You're kidding, right?"
:D
I did find it somewhat interetsing that google search for Acoustic Guitar Forum returned an excerpt from a post about March's outage, but when I went there and scanned the recent postings in the general forum without registering, nothing came up regarding LTG, which I thought was kind of surprising given how many of our guys are members there too.
Be careful men, next thing ya know they'll be wantin' ya to sign a loyalty oath.

Technically, this thread has pleasantly and lovingly already exceeded the "two mentions" limit, perhaps redefining Tolerance. In the event the use of a forum acronym (AGF) was unclear...

Here is a reference to the Acoustic Guitar Forum, where lively and informative discussions regarding acoustic guitars occur often. Included is a  link  to visit, should one be so inclined:

I've been in AGF longer than LTG and liked it for the most part.

Many of us belong to both.

I find this to be intolerant and I can't even begin to think of a rationale for this, but as a guest there, as here, I'll go along with whatever they say. However, none of that keeps me from having and expressing an opinion. Between the two LTG gets a lot more of my time and attention.

OK, in the interests of moderating my own rips of those other guys, lemme say I just remembered that we oughtn't judge the group by the actions of a single moderator...............
my gracious but they certainly have a lot of them though, don't they?

I've changed my AGF signature to include a link to LTG. I hope that's ok?

Intolerance? Petty rules? "I pity the Fool"

I wouldn't mind petty rules if there were rules clearly spelling out we can't talk about other forums. But.. I don't see it written anywhere. Maybe I should search harder.

I though deleting old threads about LTG was just.. I dunno. Don, was there some bad blood between AGF and LTG at some point?

Just seems really silly to me. I would have thought forums would support one another as needed, and under such circumstances. If matters were reversed, I cant imagine anyone taking that position here.
Glad to be here.

Oh, a provocateur, eh?
I take back what I said about "easygoing" over in that other thread.
You, sir, deserve a raise!
