One of the biggest problems with my wife and my GAS is that it completely destroys all of my leverage over her spending excesses.

As long as she knows these big boxes are arriving at our door, I cannot say a word about anything she buys. To attempt to chastise her or ask if she really needs that (fill-in-the-blank), invites amplified wrath and a higher level of scrutiny.

GAS also ramps up the wife's expectations for gifts on (fill-in-the-blank).

I have found no solution to this dynamic....

Hi Zilla; tell her she can have anything she wants by deciphering this thread and especially the pic above... (hint: may have something to do with something).

If she fails, no more remarks from her about your GAS....

I'm going with 'Rosebud' or 'Plastics'

I don't invite her to view posts like this, although she did read the infamous Fungus Young thread on wife deception (on which I said nothing that might get me in trouble).

If you never checked out that archive, Cap'n, you would appreciate it. It involved the clandestine purchase of a D-52. The cast of LTG at its best.

My ex use to say that I loved my guitars more than I love her. I always replied, well, I love the kids and the dog too but all in a different way. :)

My bride loves guitar as much as I do, one of the reasons we hit it off so well. I landed a HVAC Tech position with the new Casino so once I get the finances going the other direction, I'll be looking at the market again....yehaw!!!!! She wants a guitar to learn on.... :D

i just had a thought or was it a dream how many guitars would we have if we weren't married. thats kind of scary. i was just kiding honey (she was watching)

I guess that's why I have so mant guitars, amps, etc. A woman in her right mind would not put up w/ my spending.

congrats on the new job , iamru2! :D

Good for you, jobs are pretty scarce in Michigan these days...but they are finally going to build that Casino just south of here, down by where Don lives.
