If I weren't married with kids, I'd probably have been chasing wild women around and have contracted an incurable disease. I wouldn't have any kids to have kept me with my employer for 27 years. I'd probably be dependent on some type of alcohol or chemical crutch, and would probably be living at the Salvation Army, skid row or dead!

Wives and kids have been my salvation, along with the Good Lord of course.

Now if he wants to bless me with some fine guitars..............well, that's HIS business. :D

My dear wife complained once about the growing number of "black cases" laying around the house.

Thank goodness for tweed.

The cases, yes the cases are a bit of a clutter problem. Gettin hard to remember which case has the spare set of mediums & I have to go looking for a capo I'm missin.

I just dedicate a closet to them in the warm months, tuck 'em away in them in cold part of the year.

Frosty, in another post, the guys are ranting about a video you've posted, but I can't seem to find it. Can you help?

I've found that storing all of the cases in a compact corner of the basement where my wife seldom stalks, 'er, I mean walks, is good policy.

Having a few guitars that don't have cases is also a good deceptive tactic. If she does happen to count the cases, she guesses this is the maximum number of guitar on hand. You can get away with an extra four or five that way.

Just a couple Zilla tricks for you youngsters out there.

I'm not sure if I'm married.
15 years with the same woman.....but still no rings.
Does that still count?

Hey hideglue,

Looks like we've found the secret. More than 35 years with the same women, still no rings ........ and definitely more guitars than I need!
Don't care if it counts!

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

You guys are so right on... About the case thing: My recently ebay-purchased D4-12 came with a brown hardshell of all things... I caught Pam squinting a couple of times like, has that always been here? I put the hard cases up in the attic and reverted to gig bags that fit easier under the bed... :?

Me and the Mrs. have been happily married for 27 years now. Not bad out of 29

She conceded recently "Things could be worse, you could be a sports junkie".

I always say "You knew I was a guitar junkie before you married me". (I owned my D-25 before I started dating her...)

Reminds me of a golf joke:

Guy says to his fiance: "Before we get married next week I have a confession to make and I want to get this out on the table before we tie the knot. I'm a golf junkie. I play in 3 leagues during the week and I usually golf every weekend too. I want you to completely understand this before we get married."

She says "As long as we're doing confessions, I have one for you too: I'm a hooker!"

"No problem", he says, "just tighten up on your grip and open up your stance a little"...

Well, I don't remember exactly, but I think I had only 2 or 3 guitars (one was a bass) when I got married. Now 8 years into it, There's about 20 in the basement right now. 13 are my own. You want to start counting mandolins, dulcimers, amps & other...I'm not going to take the time to figure them all up.
