doc, I see you have a Hummingbird Artist. What do you think of it?

I like it; especially the LR Baggs under-saddle. Plugged in it gets a great deal of praise from listeners. It's bright and crisp unplugged and projects very well. It tells me where my voice should be.

I was unhappy at first. It really was a disappointment. I don't believe Musicians Friend stocks/receives the quality it should and I went through Gibson directly and they replaced the original guitar. When I sent the original guitar to Gibson (Musicians Friend wouldn't take it back without an enormous fee) I told them, "I don't care what you do at this point. I'm totally frustrated and p.o.'d. Fix it or replace it. Just admit it's a piece of crap". LOL

When they received the guitar I got an email telling me, "We can fix this piece of crap [/b]but we're going to send you a new one". After all the complaints I had heard about Gibson tec services I was truly amazed. The new guitar (hanging on the wall) is great. I wouldn't trade my Guild DM15 for one but I do like it.

Peace

I like mine, too. And for the same reasons. It sounds great, plugged in or not. Also agree somewhat about build quality, which is nothing special. But nothing to move me to give it up. What was the issue with yours?

Dave :D (sorry folks - a bit of a veer, here)

Good looking music room, mikel.
Looks like it's set up for frequent jam sessions. :D

That's exactly what it is set up for! There's nothing like gathering friends in there and swapping songs.

Scratch, I'm overdue for taking this picture, but finally got to it. Here's my little Guild family, the F-212 and the GAD-JF30BLD

I don't have room to display them all at once but here is a shot when we were having new flooring installed. They were all corralled in an extra bedroom in their cases. A friend of mine said thay looked like they were waiting in line for a Stones concert.

I'm a little late to the party and a little new to the forum, but here's mine. We weren't using the living room anyway, so we bought some overstuffed armless chairs and set up a little pickin' parlor.
mikelhenry,

Great guitar room! The chairs are killer....no arms....soft and comfortable. Very nice! :)

As you might guess, it's also a shrine of sorts to the King.
The original photo enlargement was given to me by my daughter-in-law, who is the grand niece of the photographer who traveled with E in the '50s and took that photo, and many others. 8)

That Mickey Mouse clock is so you. Somehow in my mind's eye I was picturing a room with a lot of birds as your inner sanctum.

Does the D4-12 ever get to come down on to one of the stage stands or is it forever banished up on "the rack?"

Joe,

While I'm not a really huge Elvis fan (mostly like the Sun stuff), I inherited this picture from my stepfather, who owned Casey's Camera, a camera store in Vegas. Liberace was his landlord, and he got to be pretty good friends with him in the process. This was always my favorite shot in his huge collection, and is autographed by Liberace, and perhaps even Elvis as well; it's hard to tell.

That's a mighty cool old guitar, too. 8)

Wow, Sandy, what a GREAT PICTURE!!! Casey's Camera is still in business today, and it's right across the street from the Liberace Museum (which is sadly now closed) on Tropicana. I love history like this and that's a great pic of each with the others instruments. Thanks for sharing that. Tom in Vegas

You're welcome Tom, and it's nice to know that the store is still there. My stepfather was also pretty friendly with the Rat Pack as well, and one of the pictures I missed was a really cool shot of Sammy Davis Jr. looking at cameras in the store. The picture of Elvis and Liberace hangs on my wall here every day. 8)

Well...

I am very envious of you fellows, I am not quite so fortunate to have a dedicated space for my guitars.

Someone, somewhere once said do not store your guitar anywhere where you would not be comfortable...so, as you can see, they live in the bedroom ( ). Fortunately, all the amplifiers are in the basement...

Is it any wonder that SWMBO has me on the "one-out-before-one-in" plan?

She is "appalled" that some others have not be inoculated against "GAS."

Joe,

Very nice....the clock is PRIMO! Brings it all together, you know? :)

The E picture/poster is pretty special.

Sandy,

Gosh, your picture was taken at a great point in time during their careers..and, (Mr.) Castle, aka Monte (?), used to find outfits for L? WOW! L played the guitar...who knew?

Thanks for sharing,

Toni
