Denver rules! Wasn't his signature guitar the only 18" flat top acoustic ever made?

The Guild F612 was an 18" jumbo. John's wasn't the only one ever made but they are very rare. They were a custom order only for about 2-3 years.

Wow, is that a fact? I believe though it was known as the Denver signature or something like that. Magnificient intrument either way. I must stop thinking about one of those or I'll soon have a short in my keyboard. ;)

I know this is an old thread, but one I'm glad I found
Back to the subject...there is a guy over on rickresouce that actually worked for Guild in the seventies as an artist promoter.
He said they gave away guitars to artists, maybe one, two or three
depending on how famous, etc. No cash changed hands.

I got it; that's three guys demonstrating whiz styles; one-hand on left, two-hands in the middle, and no hands on the right ... with a judge to determine the weiner ... uh ... winner?

What the heck, since nobody else would revive this in spite of Cap'n Juan's various hysterical reminders, I will.

Here's John Kilgore of Frog Holler (an incredible "Americana" type band) to the far right playing at Musikfest in Bethlehem, PA earlier this week. Coincidentally, this stage is right across the street from my house.

John's playing a Westerly era DV6 HR. And trust me, he plays it very well.

Dang ... Now I'm wondering if dredging this thread up was such a good idea ...  Surely DrumBob hasn't forgotten about us ... or is that a rhetorical question?

I gave it a shove but it was FungusAmongUs who found it ... and yes, it would make a good sticky although if it's going to be a library book, some .. <ahem> .. editing might be in order ... surely. J
