I saw the band "Wild Cherry" (Play That Funky Music White Boy) on VH-1 "One Hit Wonders". One of the guitar players was playing what looked like a white Bluesbird. I can't find a photo of that guitar anywhere though.

Here's another noteworthy addition, Steve Wynn:

Finally something I can contribute to... three guys that made want to get a jf-30 (which I finally did):

Paul Westerberg / Replacements (already mentioned I think)
Bill Janovitz / Buffalo Tom
Tim Rogers / You Am I (Australia's Westerberg counterpart)

Over the years I read separate articles where all three mention their JF-30's. Glad I read those articles 'cause I love my guitar....

Wow... you just mentioned two of my all-time favorite artists (Westerberg & Rogers). Nice!

I've seen You Am I in Australia a few times at pretty big venues but in the last few years they've come to the US a few times and played some tiny places in S. Cal that I got to... some of the best shows I've seen in my life (stood bout a foot from the stage too). If they come anywhere near you go! Also, the TR solo CD's are all really good as well if you haven't picked them up...

I'd totally forgotten that song... then the kids were watching "Undercover Brother" and there it was, laughed my a$$ off. Give me a good stupid funny move over art, any time... if I want serious I'll read a book!

I've seen them on every tour they have played in the States since '98. There weren't many until the past 2- 3 years though. I also caught Tim with Tex Perkins & that was great as well even though they were playing borrowed guitars because American Airlines temporarily lost their gear. Best show I've ever seen You Am I play was the very last one I caught in NYC at Bowery Ballroom last August... full of piss & vinegar. Plus, the Figgs opened. What a night.

I don't have Rogers' latest solo disc, but I believe I have everything else he's done along with all of the YAI stuff, including every bonus disc, B side, early EP, etc. that I know to exist. Yes, I'm fairly obsessed with their greatness... and often equally amused by their flaws.

Yeah, probably my fav, or near fav, records of the last decade (westerberg's for the prev decade)... still, nobody I know here in the US seems to know who they are. Don't have the luxury of hysteria CD yet either, or the one(s) w/ T. Perkins... is that one good?

Yes, if nothing else, it will amuse you... to be honest, I think some of the translation is lost on the recording vs. seeing them play those songs together live. It was a wildly entertaining show, which I had the luxury of seeing before hearing the record.

Dave Gonzales gets a mighty fine tone out of his Guild X-550

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj4LDP-aBtk

And he says....
"When we first started out I got a Gretsch and I went through a few of those until I got a Gibson, which I thought was a little better. And I've still got a few Gibsons but then I got a Guild which smoked 'em all."

It still grows. I saw Pierced Arrows (2/3 of Dead Moon, Fred and Toody Cole), and Fred Cole was playing an S-200 Thunderbird. Unfortunately, it was heavily modified with a Bigsby over the Hagstrom Hole and a Bill Lawrence in the bridge. No other electronics but a kill switch.
