@awagner I love the new format for your guitar inventory!! It's organized, easy to read and follow and it takes up about 4 less inches of space!! I'll bet some others might be able to adopt and display theirs in this manner. Well, maybe not Kurt, I don't think his is fixable, but possibly. But he has a link, so that works. Anyway, congrats on the new inventory display!! (y)

Thanks. GAD directed me to the feature, which clearly demonstrates that width is more important than length.

In the days of my youth there were charts that rated the popularity of recorded songs. Generally the charts were based on sales or AM plays but the concept of "chart" did adjust some when there were "albums" and people who listened to FM.

Generally something was a hit if it appeared in the top ten of a chart. A one hot wonder was a band that had a song in the Top Ten once, but never again. Sometimes those bands faded away and other times the name lived on with members being replaced and could be found on the County Fair circuit. So there are a lot of postings that don't fit that definition but I am amused nevertheless. There is also the question of a band that had a decades long career but only one song in the top ten. By some definitions they are a One Hit Wonder but because they had a lucrative career maybe that' not the best description for them.
FM radio really changed the landscape in pop music. Bands and artists like the Grateful Dead and Jimi Hendrix can both “technically” be listed here. By any objective measure they had significant impacts to rock music though.

I think Rockwell qualifies for a OHW!! ... If Michael Jackson hadn't done the background and he hadn't been the son of Barry Gordy I doubt very much this song would've gone anywhere.
Good one Tom. I really, really do not like this song. It's a good example of a poor song elevated to the charts by the old machine.

"Do You Know What I Mean" is a great one!

walrus

We used to do that with my band NIGHT SHIFT. We also did most of the songs posted on the first page of his thread. We always found that well known One-Hit-Wonders always went over well with the crowd!
