Toothbrushes...don't get me started! Why can't you buy a hard bristle toothbrush anymore?
My dentist says they are bad for the gums and has tried to get me to believe that my gum disease is a direct result of hard bristled toothbrushes. I'm gonna feel silly again if that was a rhetorical question.
Pascal's dentist and my dentist say the same thing. As the gums recede the hard bristles actually wear away at the dentin where it's thinner on the more exposed lower part of the tooth. That gives bacteria a better surface to live on which encourages "pockets" between the gum and the tooth. Mine prescribed a WaterPik to massage the gums and get intio the "pockets". They've got a small handheld model so you don't have to take up 1/2 your counter with the standard unit. I use 50% hydrogen peroxide/water to give an extra anti-bacterial kick.
Boyoboy, I just realized, if they change something there, it prob'bly ain't gonna be for the better, since it almost never is...I better buy a couple back-ups right away, like I did with my Guilds.. :D

I'd like to recommend Braun's Oral-B Pulsonic Rechargeable - reasonably priced. No, not their best. Think of this model as the GAD series of Braun electric brushes. Now, with respect to the above, the Braun Pulsonic comes with a medium-soft head. If you've got pocky and malodorous gums, however, you can go to Amazon and order a three-pack of their "sensitive" brush heads for about $27 (last I checked). These give you the best of all worlds --kind of like throwing a set of Elixirs on a GAD ---can't help but be an improvement.

Your gums will thank you.

A masterful simile, sir. My hat's off to you. :D
Actually I use a triple technique of brushing followed by flossing, followed by Waterpik. I've got it down to about a 1/2 hour a day.
I catch up with the music practice on the weekends, to keep life balanced.

Well, it is about good aural hygiene after all, ennit?

Yep, when it comes time to clean my ears, I use Young's "Crazy Horse".
Melts wax in seconds flat! :D .

Ah, the metaphors are in transition once again, I see. Time for this old pony to
mosey on home after a hard day's prairie-ing. I'll let you manage things from
here for the evening. But in parting I'd like to say that I find Neil's "Decade" to be
a fine salve for those occasional outbreaks of eczema.
