Sandy, please don't beat around the bush. Say what you really feel. (I agree with everything you said)
Mostly Taylor worshippers and Gibson bashers on that board. Along with a load of cork sniffers that all they talk about is nut widths, fretboard radii, and string spacings at the bridge. I say just play the damn thing!

Snarky bunch too, and that ewalling guy is a real tool.

:) :)

LTG rocks! :)

I used to spend a lot of time on AGF. Their luthiers section used to be a great place to talk to some of the top independent builders around. Maybe it still is... The Taylor forum also used to be a separate forum on AGF, and that was kinda' fun for what it was. When that disappeared, so did my interest. And, honestly, you think we have a lot of "which string is best" threads here???? :)

The simple fact is that there is a like-mindedness here on LTG that is the opposite of what you find on AGF. And, of course, we -- the members (and staff) here -- cater to that since we believe in it strongly.

True words! In that thread alone he shows his colors fairly vividly, but he's been a jerk in almost every thread he posts in. In my limited contact, anyway.

Eric they should just BAN you before you ever get to post! That way you get the title that goes with the SHORTEST MEMBERSHIP EVER. LMAO!! :encouragement:

We Scots are not known for mincing words, Richard. :proud:
But we're even less known for our skills as saboteurs.
Methinks some sowing of blatantly outrageously ridiculous myths about Martins may be in order.
Mav, you're our best hope at the moment.

Is he that moderator who was busted for creating multiple handles and having flame wars with himself a couple of years back?
(Mav, you should ask him about that when you're cleared))

Yeah, like the Sharks vs. the Jets.

When you're a Jet, you're a Jet all the way.

I did my part. Nice to see familiar names post after that. :)

There are a good number of informative posters, as well as well known players and builders who post there, and I generally like there responses and threads. On the other hand, there are some who I have on mental auto skip and don't even read what they type.

What frustrates me is that, for the uninitiated over at AGF, a new member could quickly "learn" that Guilds are no good anymore, and not to waste their time trying to find a few and actually play them.

What frustrates me is that you could say that about any subject on the internet and yet people still mount up and charge windmills in hopes of correcting the situation. Nothing personal but we can't control what other people say or post. All we can do is post what we believe is true and hope that anyone who really cares will separate the wheat from the chaff. Perhaps it is a side benefit of being a Geezer but I have finally learned that the only person I can change is myself and complaining about other people is just a frustrating path that leads to stress and the excessive consumption of adult beverages.

An explicit apology to Neal, just in case - this doesn't quite hit a hot button for me but it does fire off the proximity sensor, but I in no way intend this as a specific criticism of Neal.
