Well folks, you're redefining "thread veer" with each new post. I've been watching this one with fascination fro welcoming a new member through political correctness to various ethnic bits to browser configurations to, now, laundry.

Just remarkable. If only Darryl were feeling better, the veer would become real swerve, and it seems as if the rest of you would be more than up for it.

Great reading as I sit in the Calgary airport waiting to fly to, of all places, Hamilton. And this while others are on their way to Arlington. Short end of the stick, I guess.

and earns the red carpet. Several month's ago, I was trying to score an F30 in the SF Bay Area and put out an All Points Bulletin looking for an 'agent' to pick up and ship for me. She offered but the deal fell through because, like any number of deals on CL / eBay, things that are too good to be true are nearly always too good to be true. In any event, her courtesy motivated me to tranship a bass guitar for Michael K. What goes around comes around! cj

FWIW, I was in a chorus 20+ years that did his setting of Psalm 90. I hated it and I hated rehearsals. All of a sudden, however, something clicked, and it started making sense. To this day I find myself humming parts of it whenever I encounter the text of Psalm 90. Of course, it seems that his Variations on America are the traditional (organ) postlude in American churches with organs on the Sunday closest to July 4.

I learned of Charles Ives back in the college era. I liked the idea of music composed to grate on the ears of people with musically limited hearing.
