Thread veer is not only welcome, it's expected.
With any luck, we'll get UberVeerMeister Darryl back in the near future; need a seat-belt when he's on-line....

GuildFS4612CE -- sorry, I'm in tropical Minnesota! Guess I can't ask you to join my trad band!

Just for fun though, here's my website

http://www.exilesoferin.com

Note that I'm NOT playing my Guild in the photo. My poor old Guild was covered in dust in the back of a closet at the time.
Thanks, Carol, just what I needed, another website that locks up my browser, so I have to close it & start all over! . I'm sure you didn't mean to, though. Hey, Don, we need a smiley for forgiveness!

MandoSquirrel -- the site has been up for over a year -- and this is the first report I've had of a lock-up!! My apologies... For anyone else, if it happens, let me know. There's not a lot to the site, so I"m not sure what's causing the problem.

What browser/version are you using?

Carol, worked fine for me and I'm dealing with Time/Warner, formerly Adelphia, same staff and gear, which regularly goes down for no reason....

Though I did notice that your site tried to download an Active-X something or other, which I declined but the site still operated. I know alot of protective software blocks that sort of thing. Maybe someone more computer savvy than I can figure out if that had anything to do with the problem Mando experienced.

Maybe, since Mando sounds like he's experiencing this problem alot, one of you guys can help him figure out the cause. My limited experience with older computers/software would point to insufficient brainpower to process the incoming information. Or lack of housekeeping to clear out the computer cobwebs and leave space for more

Mandowho?
MandoSquirrel our Mandolian from SW Florida - Carol's webpage crashed his browser - had access troubles. Perhaps Mando has more of the English in him thus he would be the looooong time nemesis of the Irish .... whose music is celebrated on her site. Some sites also want to plant cookies - don't know if hers does but some AV software blocks cookies and some sites, Antique Audio for one, sometimes fails to accurately read the browser's okay / not okay cookie setting .... getting hungry now.

Sorry, I was off finishing checking out the forum.
I use Mozilla Firefox; I don't have the problem often, but occasionally; Normally only once, cause I figure somebody's trying to do naughty things & I don't go back. It's probably the "Active-X something or other" mentioned by GuildFS4612CE.

Possibly a tracking cookie or, like you said, her site 'sees' that you're missing an Active-X utlity like FlashMeDude, CantDeleteMe, or MessYouUp you know what I mean. You're probably right that your browser's going on the defensive by crashing...

I'm sure there's one out there somewhere. I haven't been big on searching for smilie packs to upload.

I'm also using Mozilla, but I didn't have any problems with the site. I believe I'm running the latest version.

Geez... I'm not smart enough to put anything on my site!! There's a quicktime audio track on the home page... but that's it. It's hosted by Yahoo-- could they be adding some code that I'm not aware of???

Really -- I haven't added anything else... just a plain old website created in GoLive... by a MAC person -- I don't know enough to do damage!!!
