I want an F30 but I'm not getting another guitar until I get my fingerpicking down. I can do some rolls but I can't yet put 'em together with a song. Oh John Denver made it look so easy.

Peace

Hey Doc, how are ya'?
I've told you before that I can fix that in 30 minutes or less.
One of these days, my friend....... :wink:

Take care of yourself,
Joe

A little eye candy for the nylon lovers. Because we all love pictures! This is my 1979 Mark 5 I had a good case of GAS for a few months ago. :p

And one for Hans, in case this one is not in his data base. CD 00004, kind of hard to read.

Nice Mark V. I figure if I'm going to eventually get another Classical it will be a Guild. The new GAD C2 looks real nice but maybe I'll stumble on something used when I'm ready. Thanks for the great pics.

No, no, no, you've got it backwards. You get the F30, and it helps you get the fingerpicking down. I'm only half joking, I found that 2 things helped my fingerpicking skill improve relatively promptly: getting the right guitar (F30) and finding the right teacher. I took lessons for about six months and it really gave me a boost.

The lesson(s) is(are) one thing....it's practicing that really boosts your skill level.
Sort of like anything else, I guess. :wink:

Keep 'em tuned,
Joe
Absolutely, practice is the most important thing. What the lessons did was give me a jumpstart, and help me map out what I wanted to do next, even after I stopped taking the lessons.

Next Guild, huh? Well, we're feeling the pinch a little bit at casa Chaz, and now my Guild 6-strings are gone leaving only Guild 12-strings. One of the following things would have to come up before I could really consider adding back to the stable, in likely order of possibility:

1. Some new model that I can't resist comes out of New Hartford;
2. I decide to sell / trade of one of my 12-strings to replace it with something better (that seems unlikely);
3. Pigs learn to fly;
4. I start earning significantly more money or come into an inheritance that I won't have to spend on my kids (even more unlikely);
5. An F-612 comes up for sale (yeah, right);

Well, I, like Poser, have also reached capacity. I dismiss my Washburn electric and my classical Sigma as mainly wall decorations or stuff to be tossed out with the next Spring cleaning. So that means I have 4 working guitars. I use to have a GAD, but it was sold to make space for a little something special....hopefully to be delivered in the next couple of weeks. :mrgreen:

Well there are so many that I want :shock: I would like to get a D 50, or 52 with an 80's dark burst. Then I want ,I think , an F 30, 40, or maybe a Jf model. But they have to be with a dark burst. 8)
So many Guilds so little money :(

Two on my wish list.
F612 [pipe dream]
D50 Tacoma [Adirondack]
But like someone already said, I'll have to sell one to get one.
That leaves me happy with what I have, for now.

I never went looking for a guild, been a Gibson kind a guy all my life.
But inherited this A500... And its a WONDERFUL guitar....
I can't imagine anything else from Guild that would rival it....
So chances are, I'll enjoy the heck out of this rare but exceptional jazz box and not even think about the next one....

Thing IS, when I stop thinking about them, THATS when they just show up...one way or another. Yes, I never expected the Guild that I now own. Belonged to my very first guitar teacher 30+ years ago... Last year, it entered my life.

It lives happily next to my vintage Gibbys and they are one happy family.
Oh and one Vintage Gibby was also his, I bought it back in 77... Gibby L5, very very very close to this A500....

The next Guild? Nope, can't imagine it. I really can't imagine it...
I'm trying really really hard not to imagine it!!!!!

but he has really takin' to the Sax now. So I tuned it back to Nashville tuning.

That's my Stella! Seriously, that is the exact model an look of the guitar I started lessons on back in 1965. PLayed it for a bout a year before my teacher told my folks I needed to move up to something that could be played beyond the 3rd fret. The next step was a cherry red Harmony Rocket with two DeArmond Pups. Both are gone now... Sold the Rocket when I was in college, and gave my mom the OK to donate the Stella to the Good will a couple years back. Wish I had the Rocket back... but have no pinings for the Stella (my left hand fingers remember it all to well!).

Added: Not exactly the same after all. My Stella had a stamped metal tailpiece holding the strings, and some sort of one piece floating bridge... but the rst looks the same.

My next will likely be an early '70s D-44M. But I'm good with what I've got for now...

The Stella!

Now that is veer-worthy! (circa 1966)

What will my next Guild be? I am content with the Guilds I have. :shock: :lol:
