I doubt it, unless they do a limited run for a year. I think players would prefer the more more traditional NS S-100 to an S-300.
Well you can search the sold Reverb ads, usually in the $1,100 plus minus $150 range. What’s the going rate for a S-300 with the factory Guild humbuckers these days?
That's correct, back in October 2019 they had catalog pictures of the S-300 and B-301 on Facebook and asked "Who'd like to see a reissue of these two?" There were 160 comments about it, so users liked to discuss them.If I recall correctly...didn't someone on LTG mention receiving an inquiry from Cordoba/Guild about the potential interest of a reissued S300?
GAD, catalog in the orange banding above the guitar neck says s300 and 300d models had ebony board. So I was saying I don't think that in this day and age an ebony board will be on a NS guitar.
I like the 300 and the 100 looks. I would be torn which to get if they were both available at the same time.
In that case I better pony up cash for the OG before the reissue ends up happening. I remember the S100’s still being fairly cheap 10 years ago until the reissue came out. Naturally the price of the original seems to have shot up.Sorry - I may have been confused there!
If Guild did reissue the S300 I can't imagine being anything but dissapointed. As you said, there's no way it will be ebony, they'll put the lame import adjust-o-matic bridge on it, it will probably get those terrible open-back tuners, probably won't have the phase switch, and will generally be an abomination in the eyes of GAD.
I think the S-300 had a 24 fret neck. The S-100 I believe is 22
...and will generally be an abomination in the eyes of GAD.
The only "S100" I can recall with an ebony fingerboard is the S200 that Grot has (like a super-deluxe S100), and his is the only one of that model I've ever seen.
