I have been messing around with all different models of DeArmond pickups. I found the general tone of the pickups on the Rockibilly , DeArmond 2000, to have a similar tone to the origional Dearmond Model 200 except the Model 200's have greater output and a little less bright upper end. When compared against the Gretsch reissue Dynasonics the output of the Dynasonic and Model 200 seems about the same but the Dynasonics seem to be a bit more distorted. A big problem I find with the Gretsch reissue Dynasonics is the very large Alinico pole piece magnet really "pulls-off" the frequency on the low E-string. I haven't found any practical pole-piece height that can cure this effect.
