Quite a needle in the haystack search I know.....but might as well try.

I'm looking for at least a pair of these.....four would be off the charts.....

If someone has at least a couple to spare let me know.

Thanks....

That will be a very difficult search! I wonder if they were made out of Catalin, like the switch tips in the 50ies. Hans book shows those knobs were used around 1959 on a few T-100 and X-50 models only, so that would limit the availability a lot.

They look like something that could be fabricated by hand, don't they?

Ah yes......nearly impossible to find but thought I'd cast about as futile as it may be.

I like'm for some primal reason that is hard to express....they remind me of old bakelite radio knobs, the bases of vacuum tubes and such.
And yes, maybe they are Catalin or some other earlier version of plastic.

I've got a well played blonde '60 Guild that would be perfect for them.

Sure, if somebody has the talent and a small lathe it should be no problem to duplicate them. You just need the right material. Catalin checkers are too thin for one knob, so you need Catalin blocks or rods with the right diameter. And some years time to get them to the right color.

So thats your guitar on Reverb then? Oh I've visited it often and ruminated on how I could possibly bring that one home....and not just for the knobs.
I remember when Mike B first acquired it.
I'd have to sell a few Guilds, etc. to raise the funds for that one....and geeze its also got my favorite DeArmonds.

Yeah, it's a great guitar, but I play the X-175s, Aristocrats, and Starfire more often. If I sold it to anyone here, it would just be for what I paid.
