Bang on the money there Joe, imagine my suprise when I unpacked it !!Turns out it's a F50R.

Just goes to show how those Guild model numbers can stuff you up, here's a trade between 2 ltgers that goes awry even when they both think they know what they are talking about !!

Part of the issue was that it was a deal between 2 LTGers, with mutual trust and a genuine desire to help each other out. If it had been an ebay deal then there would have been truckloads of questions/ photo's etc flying back and forth, but both Steffan and I were sure we were talking the right thing, and I have the utmost trust in Steffans description of condition etc that I didnt need photo's, well you see the result.

As it happens it's a great guitar, I absolutely love it, now Why did I want a maple one ?

Cheers, Ian

It's a great looking guitar from what I remember of photos that Steffan had, and I just know that you'll embrace it in time.
Could I/we see more photos, so I/we could vicariously enjoy your new guitar?

Congrats,
Joe

Yeah, more photos....there is a guy in the mirror I have to have a few words with...not....Ian was most patient with me while I was being distracted by a couple of other Guilds...but was I surprised when he wrote back telling me how surprised HE was when he took it out of the case...just glad he is happy with it or I'd have to be on the hunt for a maple to trade him for...and with the cost of shipping I'm VERY glad he likes it now....It's gone to a good home, and I'm sure not too many in his neighbourhood, that is a hugely special guitar...I mean even after all these years no servicing required...great condition, great action, sings like an angel and a proud owner...N I C E... :D Steffan

Anyone spot the problem

That's some purty lookin' Maple Ian. 8) Just my $.02, but the Rosewood Jumbos sound better to my ears. I don't think you'll regret buying it.
