I'm on a break from puzzles. Daily, I was doing Wordle and Dordle and the newspaper's cryptrogram. (My wife does the daily crosswords and sudoku.) Weekly, I was doing Numbrix in the Sunday local paper, the New Yorker crossword, and the Sunday New York Times crossword, honeycomb, and some other word games that aren't weekly, like their acrostic and their puns and anagrams puzzle.
I realized it was just eating up too much time. So about a week ago I cut 'em all out. Now I just have to unhook myself from a few more online forums. (I've stopped visiting two. That leaves Let's Talk Guild and
www.tdpri.com.)
Saving graces: Can't do the Harper's Magazine puzzle. Too dern hard. That saves me many hours per month. Not often interested in number puzzles: another time saver. And don't have a cell phone. How many hours of my life has that saved me?
Now — how much time have I spent writing this pointless ramble? Don't tell me!
