Dropped off the D 46 with the luthier for a set-up and a special project that I'll post about when it's finished sometime next month.
Been playing the D55 most every day, but today I brought out the Studio 24 and spent some time with it.Studio_24_02_Front_Angle_Right.jpg

VERY cool guitars the "Studio 24" Bob. If I remember correctly, they were marketed as giving the best access to the upper neck of any acoustic guitar at the time.

I've only played my Gc SW by Furch in the last eight months, with very few occasional exceptions. I may have found my one guitar, and I like their neck more than any other on steel strings. Got to change those strings that didn't work well on my Guild (feeling guilty while being here on LTG 😊, saying what I said)...

Neat guitar, Brad. Nice job on the work! Tremendous silk on that old Martin top.

Thing looks great! Keep us posted on how it sounds!

Switched over to acoustic on Tuesday, but it was a Martin. :p Today, it's a Guild - the enigmatic 25th Anniversary D-25 aka D-26.

Ah, the guitar of many names and dates. :) Yours looks absolutely perfect by the way, GG. Do you like it? Have you compared it to other D-25s?

I haven't been able to directly compare it to a standard D-25. But based on my memory of the many D-25's I've played, it's a bit looser sounding. I attribute that to the scalloped bracing. I think it helps open up the sound and I definitely like it better. That's not to say there aren't great sounding straight-braced D-25s out there. I just haven't played one (yet) that I like better than the D-26. I think @twocorgis can weigh in on if he thinks the D-26's sound is step above or not.

Rich:
It is a very nice guitar and, quite honestly, no sonic or playable difference from the DV 72 or DV 73. Just different color scheme and, of course, much rarer.

I think it's easily better than any D25 I've ever played or owned for sure. My problem is that I have a bunch of truly great (and way more expensive) mahogany dreads that it just can't hang with. I'm thinking about selling mine, but the market is so bad right now that I might wait until tax return season time to sell.

This one still. The BR is on the outs. It’s on the wall. Too hard on shoulder. I will take it every year for Sukkot but that’s it. Great camping guitar. The F30R is the one I play now. Till my 9 year old takes it. Then I need to find another small body Guild

That F30r is sort of everything I like in a guitar! I thought I wanted a 90s Westerly F30, but now I'm not sure that I don't want a 90s F30r.

And I love your playing.
