Bummer! Funny this comes up right now - he's working on a set of Filtertron-size/mount P90-oids for me for that Gretsch I got last year. I've tried, but I still can't love the Filtertrons in it for anything else than full-on raunchy rock, and I'd like to use it more for my regular gig.
I got reaffirmed that I'm not a humbucker guy I guess.

Walter, TV Jones makes a Filtertron-mount P90 style pickup (their “T90”).

Hey Jeff, I know, but as Gabojo is located in Greece, shipping will cost much less, and I won't have to pay import duties.

Plus...the Gabojo version will look better on that two-tone Gretsch than TV Jones' black plastic covered ones...😉 (the pictured pickup has tabs to mount it in a ring - mine will have "ears" to mount them on the bracing) Screenshot_20240219_171627_Samsung Internet.jpg

Bummer that they won't build one for you, Walter. I wonder why? Maybe they're just too busy (I hope) building what they've got.

That is a good-looking pickup - it will look great on a Gretsch!

I got the same GFS Surf 90 as GGjaguar and installed it in my Surfliner Deluxe. I found the same thinness and volume drop and realized that the pickup was out of phase. Reversing the leads made it sound like a normal pickup combination when in position 2.
For my taste, the pickup is a bit thin sounding, so I flipped it so that the pole pieces were closer to the fingerboard. It warmed up the tone without losing the brightness. You might give it a shot.
