Yeah Tommy, it is a little bit on the large size for me comfort wise. I knew that going into it. It is a concern but I can manage it.

Compare that also to my Tacoma F47 with a 15-13/16 lower at 3-3/4 to 4-3/4 deep . That little bit makes it more comfortable for extended playing. Your F44 and similar are probably the best all around size out there.

HeyMikey, Welcome to the GV-70 Club. I totally echo your sentiments about these special guitars.

Sure the body is a little deep and I can play it just so long, but the trade-off is well worth it.

By the way, mine is #12.

Awesome rampside... #12 and 22 we’re practically brothers!

Mine is #48.

A very rare model; rarely discussed or even mentioned here, I'm assuming because so few of us know it. And yet one of Guild's very best production models.

Anyone know how many were made?

And how many are accounted for among LTGers?

I asked Hans about the 59 number that’s been mentioned. He thought it could be somewhere around that but is still compiling data.

I sent the GV70 down to Tom Jacobs for a neck reset and spa treatment. Got it back last week and I am very impressed by the difference it made. Very clean work by Tom as expected. It is even more articulate, the intonation is now as it should be, and the lower action makes it a joy to play. As good as my other guitars are this is now king of the hill.

I’m in to this for more than I’d ever get out of it, but that Ok because I am keeping this one ‘til I’m 6 feet under. Heck, I may even take it with me...
