It was tried before, and people hated it. Standard time was done away with in December, 1973. The nation went on daylight saving time full time. In January, the sunrise in DC was 8:27am. By August, there was enough of a public uprising to go back, and a bill was introduced in Congress to reinstate the time change.

I was a Sophomore in High School that year and because our school was to be divided into two separate schools I went Split-Session. That year I went morning session. We would get off the bus at school in the dark, go out back to the "smoking lounge" and watch the Sun rise! It was horrible!

All this hype about an extra hour of sleep...hell, I get an extra hour a couple times a day!

I feel sorry for those who think this is a huge problem in their lives.
The first day or two after the time change feels odd. Nothing more.
And then it just becomes the norm until the next switchover.
There are greater problems and tragedies in the world to kvetch about.

Perhaps surprisingly, everyone is not the same. Some people like it, some people don’t. Both are OK.

Head to Arizona if the change is an issue - no daylight savings time here except on the Navaho reservation area.....
I worked in AZ for a couple of weeks and they were very proud of the fact that they don’t do time changes.

Ugh, could never bear the heat... Especially in the Phoenix area. Maybe seasonally. But then I'd lose the advantage of no TZ change! :) Can't win, buddy!

I lived in Saskatchewan for a few years. They're on Central Standard Time year-round; while adjacent provinces & states change.
I loved it - no fussing about with clocks. The sun rises & sets. The sky doesn't fall.
