This is supposed to be a humor thread.

And then there's Darwin Awards - https://darwinawards.com/ - if one is into morbid side of life . . .err. . or death.

even though each and every death is individual tragedy plus w any luck grief to family etc - in many occasions there is lot to laugh for rest of us.

I was seeing the dark humor of a cautionary tale.
Kinda like "Don't Tease the Octopus"

Those are some serious high-amp fuses!

I once went to an open house, checked out the fuse panel, and there were several stubby flathead screwdrivers jammed in there to cinch up the fatigued(?) spring clips holding in the cannister fuses. I slammed the fusebox door shut and ran out of there.

I think it's Husqvarna, but one of the big chainsaw manufacturers said that "Instructions & Safety" for saws sold in their country were one printed sheet. The ones exported to USA were over 15 pages front and back exactly because of illustrations like above. They can't expect people to not be stupid. And if a lawsuit happens because of not warning people about the stupidity, they can be held accountable. Welcome to the USA.

When we rented jet skis in Phuket, Thailand on the beach of the resort, we handed them 500 Bhats and they said, "Grab one and go! Be back in an hour or so." I thought, "If this was the USA we'd have identification to be xeroxed, credit cards to run and forms to fill out and waivers to sign and at least 15 minutes of paperwork before they'd let you even look at a jet ski." Just goes to show you something......
Has to do w/ the American penchant for litigation. We might be the only country on the planet that when we do something stupid, first thing we do is call a lawyer thinking someone clearly should have stopped me, if not warned me, of my own stupidity. Most countries don’t even sue for legitimate accidents. Even medical ones…like having the wrong limb amputated. They just carry on and chalk it up to oh well, $&@# happens.

Stealing a boat and "parking" it like this cost the man about 40 000 € - he confessed everything - said he was drunk - agreed to pay for everything - nobody else got hurt . . . - article in local news - happened last july here - eagerly waiting for boating season to begin. 😂
