It would be interesting to hear what you'd say of an all Hog U.S. made 12 strings Guild compared to it, and to the other guitars you mentioned... Maybe you just like all Hog 12 strings better than any others... I find it interesting to hear that someone who can compare various U.S. made guitars to a MIC same brand side by side, ends up liking the Chinese made better. I know you have many guitars to choose from, and that's I think, the 1st time I hear such conclusion... Would it last is an other question still. I buy Flamenco guitars from Spanish makers/luthiers though, and American guitars from American builders...Might go for an Asian made electric however (Starfire II or III as I don't see any U.S. made here). Can't help it and it was a bit surprising to me but I was working on a few songs today and found myself playing my JF 55-12, my G-312 and my F-412 to get the tone/sound I was after.
Then I picked up a recent acquisition, a Westerly Collection D-1212E, and I gotta say I prefer it to any of the others I played. The F-412 was a close second. Looks like I may be selling a couple 12 strings soon.
I've always loved the sound of an all Hog guitar and to me this one sounds terrific and looks really good as well. They did a nice job on this model I think.
