True! Good observation. Muller grommets fit the holes and the spacing is correct. I wonder if someone made a mistake at the factory that's why it was never finished.

No way, the Müller #10/20 would not have been parallel to the pickup routing! They were always angled I'd say. Also the second set of holes for the tailpiece would be missing.

Could it have been prepared for a Schaller bridge/tailpiece? Fits pretty much the location of the two holes.

So S-282 was a good guess I think.

I'll dowel and redrill the base side hole. I have an 80s tailpiece. Always wanted a Guild with a Muller so.....

Candy Apple Red might look great, but I would leave the back of the neck blonde. EDIT: Well with a set neck that is a different story.
