So another thread got me thinking of some of the more obscure old TV shows I used to watch in the '60's:

Lost In Space

The Time Tunnel

Land Of The Giants

My Favorite Martian

My Mother The Car

F-Troop

Get Smart

My Three Sons

McHale's Navy

Petticoat Junction

"Get Smart" is a true classic! I absolutely love the humor, that at times can be a bit racy (; . My all-time favorite is Adam-12!

also by the same makers, Gerry & Sylvia Anderson ...
Supercar
Space Patrol
Captain Scarlet
Just realized, methinks you meant "Space 1999" featuring real human puppets Martin Landau and Barbara Bain, (post- Mission Impossible)

Space Patrol was an American radio and later live-action series from the '50's.

I don't think I've seen any mention of cartoons. I remember Tom Slick and the Thunderbolt Grease-Slapper. Penelope Pitstop was his girlfriend and Granny was the mechanic, but I don't recall whose granny, Tom's or Penelope's. I think Tom was part of the George of the Jungle show, but not sure.

It seems I am mixing two different cartoons. Pinelope Pitstop was not Tom Slick's girlfriend, she had her own cartoon.

Yes, but Gerry & Sylvia Anderson also did UFO and Space 1999!

LOVED UFO - I have all of them on DVD. Space 1999 was too over-the-top trying to be campy Star Trek for me.

Ah, but for me, Space Patrol was this:

Yeah don't think I ever even heard of the "supermarionation" (Anderson's term) series! But Fireball XL5, and Supercar were in syndication when I was a tyke. I liked Fireball better.

Maybe it was the theme song:

Speaking of which, we haven't even touched on the cool theme songs that came with so many TV shows.

and the only TV SF show I preferred was:

COMMANDO CODY!
Cody wore no underwear?

I loved Space Ghost when I was a kid but Space Ghost Coast to Coast was so much better, cool theme song too:
