^If I remember correctly, by the early 70’s, there were a bunch of knock offs w/ that notched zip tie you pull. A friend had a set of smash up derby cars that you intentionally crashed into each other and the doors and hoods would pop off.

Similar, but with a wind up crank was my fav toy for a year or two…my Evil Knievel wind up motorcycle.

Granddaddy got one of these for all the grandkids to play with while at their house. It was a blast and I was a whiz on it, fastest of all the grandkids. A google shows it was called an Empire Skat Scoota.
