I will let the guitar settle for a few months and than see if it needs any setup work. Right now, it plays real nice right out of the box. Im very impressed with the quality and sound.

one question I have is this hole for a strap button. Is that normal? There is just a hole.

Congratulations on a great Guild. mine is shown in my avatar (natural finish).

There should be an end pin in a little envelop inside the case storage compartment. It may be a very tight fit, so don’t force it or hammer it in. Seek local help if it sticks out too much or won‘t stay put.

Congrats on its safe arrival! And I must say that burst is killer for a brand new one, not much red in it, and the orange doesn’t seem too bright, I dig it. Maybe there was turnover in the paint department. Lol.

i took a look inside and was surprised to see no sticker in my brand new Guild D-40 T. I’m Kinda puzzled. May sound silly but I was looking forward to a picture and presence of a guild sticker. Only thing I saw was the word guild pressed and stamped on one of the cross members. Did they stop using stickers?

Yeah, that surprised me, too when I got my Oxnard-built F512. What the heck, no sticker? Yep, that's standard now -- The model and serial number are now stamped on the inside neck block. Major congrats on that awesome new six-string!

These new Guild cases are pretty awesome, too! (I still use a couple damp half sponges inside a baggie with holes punched in it under the headstock for humidification. They carry more moisture than that little round sponge that comes with the case, which is nevertheless pretty cool and well positioned right over the soundhole....)

Awesome, looks just like mine. I use the humidifier thing in my case all winter, might not as much now as I have a central humidifying system now, but that can only do so much on the real cold days.

I actually was pleasantly surprised to not have a sticker but rather a stamp in the block. It feels more time was taken, and that is a more permanent indicator.

Any finish flaws? Mine has a couple, luckily I'm one of those people who notice but aren't bothered by them, and they're minor in my case.

OK, I've never bought a guitar without the end pin installed. What's the purpose of not installing the pin?
