Last Friday was a special day indeed. The UPS delivery brought me a nice 1996 F-65CE all the way from Myrtle Beach, SC to sunny Tucson. I couldn't resist buying this guitar: The seller's price was ridiculously low and I had major GAS going for this model. The seller described the condition as excellent, with little actual playing and a lot of case time. I bought it without any close inspection. Well, the price was right but there were some condition issues.
Lacquer crazing on front and sides.
A crack in the top running to the bridge. Fortunately it's not going any where thanks to the bracing.
Not much saddle left here. Probably going to need a neck reset at some point.
I cleaned and polished, put on some new strings, and, THIS GUITAR PLAYS GREAT!!!
Now I know why folks like this guitar. Unplugged and the tone is full and rich. Plugged in and anything is possible. I am going to have a lot of fun with this, trust me.
Here's a shot in the case with the rest of the herd. 8) When I get the JF-30 back from the luthier I'm going to take a picture of my 4 blondes together. It's gonna be hot!
