When did you do that "Summer of Love" gig?
Oh, about 12 years ago! Don't think I'd fit in the pants anymore! :?

Oh, and the hair was real!

Here's a shot from the same venue on different night.

Great looking guitar! It really stands out on stage - even more than your pants!

How did it sound in the mix? Were you happy with it plugged in?

I have an update on this great instrument: I played it today at rehearsal amplified through a very nice acoustic amp (made by Marshall) and I was BLOWN AWAY by the sound. WOW!! Coming from an acoustic background, I never really paid much attention to the way an acoustic-electric sounds plugged in - to me, playing in a band, the sound just becomes background texture. But this guitar changes the entire game now. So I really learned something new today. Marc, thanks again!

Barbara, Why did you put this in the archtop forum? It's a flat-top.

That guitar sat in a case for at least 2 1/2 years of the 3 years I owned it.
And the electronics sound better than my sunburst F65ce's electronics.
Same set-up. But the blue one is 3 years younger.

That oxidation on the tuners was there when I bought it.
I never thought about it. Neither did Mr. Binh when he had it.

There was only one problem with that guitar when I purchased it. But it was an infuriating little problem. The latch (or whatever you call it) that locked the pre-amp controls into place was missing. So you had to push it in very gently when you changed batteries, otherwise the pre-amp would slip into the inside of the guitar. And that was a nuisance to pull out. You had to loosen the strings & push it out from the inside. Really aggravating. But Mr. Binh fixed that for me. He glued a piece of wood or plastic or something there so it would click into place again.

I hope the dryness doesn't get to it Barbara. That guitar has a Houston/New Orleans/Vietnam
humidity pedigree.

Tuners look beautiful Barb. I never noticed they were gold before.
And that guitar sounds a lot better plugged in than my 97 F65ce.
The electronics supposedly are the same. But that one blew me
away the first time I plugged it into my Roland Ac60.
And that was just beore I shipped it to you. I had never plugged it in before.
It stayed in the case for 2 1/2 of the 3 years I owned it. It was in the best shape
of all my guitars. I'd change the strings every few months put it back in the case.

Well you have to have a copy of Wallace Stevens poem

The man bent over his guitar,
A shearsman of sorts. The day was green.

They said, "You have a blue guitar,
You do not play things as they are."

The man replied, "Things as they are
Are changed upon the blue guitar."

And they said then, "But play, you must,
A tune beyond us, yet ourselves,

A tune upon the blue guitar
Of things exactly as they are."

Just don't ask me to explain it.
