Just acquired this one from Richard, a guitar I have been seeking for quite some time,

It is the only CL variant of the DV72 I am aware of, although I assume there are some others out there.

Interestingly, the neck block date is the same as my DV76 (April 15, 1994), which also has pink coral, although there are some minor differences.

This one has had a life, but it sounds and plays great. Richard had Fixit make necessary repairs, so it should be playable for many years to come.

Congrats Andrew. I really like the coral. Much more subtle than the turquoise which is a little too showy for me. Very nice.

Congrats and enjoy!

It is the only CL variant of the DV72 I am aware of, although I assume there are some others out there.

Two other CL DV-72s have surfaced in recent years in LTG discussions: #s 136 and 137. My spreadsheet, which includes 46 total DV-72s, has only this one cluster of 3 coral variants, bracketed by a malachite variant (#128) and a more common turquoise (#140). If we assume this is the only cluster, and that the CLs were numbered consecutively, one might conclude that there were as few as 7 CLs made (#s 131-137) or as many as 11 (#s 129-139).

Excellent. This is my favorite builds. Something about the Southwest theme and the use of semi precious materials. The herring bone on the back. Just great. Congratulations!

My malachite is #128, with a neck block date of April 12, 1994, 3 days before my CL and my DV76

Fantastic rosewood on that one, congrats! You need to do a family photo of the DV7x's. :)

Just what I needed. Another Guild on the must have list. I have a weak spot for coral.

Except for the elusive DV82, I now own every DV7x model, plus the JV72. I feel like the dog that caught the car. Now what?
Oh, that’s easy. Sell them to us and start the quest again! After all it’s the thrill of the hunt, right? Oh, and dibs x 6 🤪

Seriously though, it’s family picture time. Line ‘em up!

That guitar is gorgeouso. Super congrats!!! Just a unique super cool example of Guild at their finest. That is a statement guitar and with only a measly 37 Guilds in your stable, there is plenty of room for more awesome pieces like this :)

Wow and "goooll Lee" as Gomer said. Just a beauty and rare guitar. Enjoy its company.

Very nice! I noticed the tuners are gold Imperials vs chrome ones used on other DV-72's. Did Richard have any history?

My DV72 is AD720116 and the date is March 19, 1994! That coral is stunning!! They're such beautiful guitars and sound like a heavenly choir!! Well, now that it's out, I'm gonna play it for a while, so thanks, Andrew!! :ROFLMAO::LOL::p
