If I also recall correctly the Corona Bluesbird 90 body depth is a little thinner thsn it Westerly Blues90 depth. I'm guessing a less than a 0.1".

I just got done playing my Blues-90 for the last two hours. I picked it up in order to record it for my review and just got lost playing power chords through every amp sim I have. What fun.

I can tell you that my:

Blues-90 is 1 3/4" at the nut and .86" deep.
Bluesbird-90 is 1 3/4" at the nut and .84" deep.

You may not believe me, but neither is my fattest neck on a Guild. In fact they're fourth and fifth. :)

They do tie for a spot in the widest electric fretboard list, though... The #2 spot. 😎

I do think they're the winners in the widest and fattest when considered together, though.

I own 2 Westerly Bluesbirds and a Corona Bluesbird 90. I also owned and recently sold my Westerly Blues 90 ( see picture below, emerald green Blues 90). I found the necks for Blues 90 and the Bluesbird 90 very similar but felt the Bluesbird 90 was a tad bigger. I actually preferred the Bluesbird 90 over the Blues 90. One other difference that I noted were the tuners on the Blues 90 were the Guild branded ones rather than the Grovers that were standard on the Bluesbird and Bluesbird 90.
PS thanks Admin for making it easier to upload pictures! Oh and it makes me smile that I am a "Junior" member at age 66.

Isn't this one a Blues 90? What is that finish color? On the 2001 price list they have "Black Cherry", "Ebony Transparent", and "Emerald Green". We see these "red" ones a lot - isn't this "Black Cherry"?

Gildocasters should be a Westerly made Blues 90 from year 2000. The red color in the year 2000 catalog was called "Transparent Red" for the Bluesbird and "Black Cherry" for the Blues 90.

Thanks, Ralf! I looked in GAD's PDF of catalogs and that's what I thought. It appears I will be the next owner of Richard's 2001 Blues 90 he is selling, which (if 2001 is correct) must then be "Black Cherry". The same info on colors is in the 2001 catalog.

I think as always Guild wasn't to consistent with the catalogs. So there might be Transparent Red Blues 90ies. Best to ask Hans in the specific case with serial number. The ledgers he has might tell the color. It's similar with the Amber or Natural colors. They look almost the same on the Bluesbirds from that time.

Richard is selling one currently : https://letstalkguild.com/ltg/index.php?threads/2001-blues-90.204262/

Confirmed by Hans to be a 2001 and "Black Cherry" finish! And Ralf, you missed a key part of my post above (#54) regarding Richard's Blues 90! ;)
