It arrived from GC Syracuse today. Still in the box under the watchful eye of my Guild neon sign.
Discussed here and here

That's great, Dan. Can't wait to see it and hear your impressions once it acclimates. What a great guitar cave you've got there!

Hope you like it as much as I did.

Would you mind giving me the dimensions of your room?

I like your layout a lot better than mine. And I stink at layouts.

oh and nice collection of what looks like Chateauneuf du Pape

I used to own one. Sunburst. Terrific flame maple back and sides. Sounded like a million bucks.

Sold it because I had convinced myself that I needed guitars with a 1 3/4" nut. Silly me.

I think you guys are more excited about this guitar than I am :p. Here it is.
- Confirmed that the G string was a mismatch. So it's the same guitar beecee played. I didn't cross reference the serial numbers but I've uploaded a photo of the serial and headstock photo showing the mismatched G.
- Guitar is in great shape. Just a little finish checking, not parallel to the grain. Setup is fine. I put a straight edge on the neck and neck angle is fine.
- I changed the strings to D'Addario PB 12's. It sounds....like a Guild. Balanced. More bass and less "dry" than my SJ-200. Lots of sustain. Nice overtones. Very responsive. All that makes it more jangly than my SJ-200, and even the Oxnard F-55 maple I used to have.
- It's a simple beauty. Love the unpainted headstock.

14' x 30'. I've spent a lot of time dialing it in. Happy to geek out on it here or by PM!

Good eye. Yes, Chateauneuf pairs very well with archtops.

It's quite possible Ren Ferguson strummed this guitar before it left the building...
Congrats!

I sold my Oxnard D-55 and F-55 because of the nut. I feel squeezed on open chords like Dm7. But I already love the way this F50 plays up the neck.
