Somehow missed this thread, Sarah. Welcome aboard.

I love those early X-50s - on my third now, a '53 - they're just easy to handle, versatile and fun to play. Yours looks like a beauty. And hang on to that old chipboard case - it's the real McCoy.

Cheers,

Thanks Grot! I will watch it like a hawk! Jeez, you made me get mine out of the case, give a few strums and a peck on the cheek and back in she went.

Thanks John. I am loving this forum. There is such a vast amount of knowledge here. Although, my boyfriend is getting a little irritate with how much time I spend here reading. Oh, well, just improving my mind!

Train him to play bass. We'll help and we can all have a good time when he goes on the hunt for a Guild.

thank you Hideglue. I'm not sure if Capn means he looks like an inkspot, or if you have big muskels!

Hi Sarah ... it means I should probably be looking at Rorschach inkspots ... If you dig in the Thread stack long enough, you'll find pics of the real 'Glue, me, and many other BBers ... try Mug Shots. If it doesn't appear on your Board Index, send a PM to Don/Dklsplace ... might leave a pic of yourself there!

Well, my laptop fell and broke and has been out of commision for a couple of weeks. But, it's as good as new. Did I miss anything?

Why, thank you :D

I am still searching for an early Starfire with a tremelo. I've found a couple but I don't have the funds just yet. I think to get the single coil pickups that I'm after I will need either a 1962 or 1963. Not sure on that. The X-160 that I would like to look at is a 2 hour drive for me and so far I just have had a half day to do that. I did buy a new Gretsch 5120 in February that feels amazing to my fingers. It was love at first sight! It is the dark sunburst or tobacco burst color that I really like. After I've had it a while I think I will do some modifications to it. I may add TV Jones pickups to it, although I don't dislike the Gretschbuckers, the TVJ's will provide a better Rockabilly sound.

I'm also on the lookout for a Mosrite Celebrity, FYI.
