Graham,
I feel for you...The closest I came to THAT kind of cold was when we lived in N.J. 12 years ago. We could never go back to that kind of weather (without kicking and screaming the whole way!). So we have gotten too used to the Florida weather-a cold day for us never gets out of the 50's! Though last night , with the wind chill, it was in the low 30's. We folks in Florida are not used to that!

About 7 F (25 below freezing)

Hey Graham, what does it get down to at night there?

We have forced air heat in our house in PA and it's usually above freezing here during the days. Couldn't imagine trying to keep the room humidified if we had your kinda temps!

Oh ... by the way, welcome to the newcomer!
And please take note how we NEVER stray from the topic here at LTG and NEVER hijack threads, because we are very courteous at all times. Now, if you just attend to these rules and keep your nose clean, ........ you'll realize you're in the wrong forum.

We haven't been too bad here this year really. No prolonged real cold spells, although when it gets to late February everybody wants to come out of the igloo for a little while at least.

We're much the same weather as Detroit, Chicago, Buffalo (of which Canada is a suburb). Our weather is mostly determined by the Great Lakes and the Jet Stream.

Night time temps lately have been -10(Canadian) to -20(Canadian) American equivalents are Holy crap it's cold tonight - Did I need that body part that just fell off?)

Couple of years ago we had a prolonged spell of 30 days at -30 to -40. -40 Canadian = -40 American

Lots of beaver pelts to keep us warm and stylish though, good eaten too.

Feel free to help us out. Send your pelts to PO Box Canada.

Remember Save a Tree, Eat a Beaver.

Welcome, play4me! Great choice in Guilds, you'll love it, the JF30's just boom!

This thread is a great initiation for you, almost every thread gets de-railed and many end up at the CN Tower in Toronto  I'm surprised this one hasn't gone there yet.

I really can't think why - all you see is that tower in the distance top left - where's the attraction in that :?

Hi ADM; ya gotta be an engineer! I think the cantilever there is unusual and subject to further investigation and .... uh ...billing.  cj
