Exactly.

Trying ? Trying to do what exactly? LolStill cool they are trying. But I don’t associate GSR with satin finish.
Well then, good luck, Cordoba. There is one man in charge, which reflects his decisions on identity.

when these get out to the used market theymuddle up everything just like F-40 does for me . Having to sort through 1,000 F40 jumbo’s to find the F40 OM .
now their throwing in the GSR label in plain Jane guitars . So when your looking for a GSR you get something that has nothing to do with what’s in your head and expect. So will this kill the real GSR value ?
I find it irritating and it gets a “F” come into my office , why ?, because your _ _ _ _ ‘n Fired !
Hugs
No, I've seen at least 3 other dealers with the F 40 GSR.
Bah ! I want OM’s and that thing that Al wants not googley moogly satin over stock !i am just trying to be encouraging...

Well, here's the thing. I think Cordoba MG is doing a great job with Guild. And because I don't like a couple of new models or special releases means nothing. And I don't agree with the satin finish, but that's a personal thing. Apparently, they're more popular these days. Not with ME, but in general. Also, keep in mind doing things the same over and over is boring. Remember that what they do today BECOMES Guild history tomorrow. Setting new goals and change is all part of it. I'm sure Westerly probably had a couple of models that didn't pan out for them. And I'm not familiar with Gibson enough to say, but Taylor is always changing, improving, modifying and staying current at the forefront (think V-bracing) and always willing to embrace new colors and finishes. What holds value and endures is for history to decide. And if Sweetwater or CME has enough money to buy a whole new run of guitars or several runs, that's good business and puts money in their pocket regardless of how we personally feel. That's a good thing. That's a lot of guitars bought and paid for. So while I may not care for satin, or dual pickguards, I'm not buying a guitar right now, and someone else IS!!My opinion: Cordoba is over thinking its strategy, and not respecting Guild history. Cordoba needs to defend the Guild credibility while protecting its bottom-line. Tweaking Guild "standards" in the wrong ways will ultimately fail. In the end, Guild must continue to compete with Gibson and Taylors, etc., otherwise weaken the brand's reputation as an outsider who deserves respect.
There’s not a ounce of seriousness behind my words maybe it’s more a Awe shucks . LolWell, here's the thing. I think Cordoba MG is doing a great job with Guild. So I'm gonna hold off on the hate and let Cordoba get on with making Guilds and just watch and see how they do. I think they're really doing a great job. Listen to what Richard says, he's bought more than most of us and gives them rave reviews. Isn't that enough to be getting on with???
It’s true, Tom, when guild was at Tacoma it did experiment with changes that later became GSRs at NH which turned out to be really special. Maybe I’m premature in my criticism.Well, here's the thing.
