That interview was posted much earlier in this thread, but it's gopd to see it again. What was interesting about it was the attractive blonde in the background. Throughout the video she remained in the background, and even turned toward the camera a time or two. Then, as soon as the interview ended she split. Coincidence? You decide.

Apologies for the redundant post. I didn't see the video previously posted in the thread. (I still don't, actually. I'm having trouble keeping up!)

As for the blond, do you mean the X175B? She's a looker for sure.

That's OK Kslam I don't remember seeing that video either.

As for the blond, in her defense she is talking to Chis the whole time so I'm not totally sold on her being a "video bomber".

The more I hear Mike L. talk about Guild electrics, the more I'm liking this guy! Hope he makes it to LMG IV!

Mike was the first product manager for the Gretsch line when Fender began marketing them and was responsible for many of the improvements in the line. Fender moved him on to other assignments and moved Joe Carducci into that position. Hopefully Guild will have the success that Gretsch has had in coming back as a viable brand.

Question about the Patriarch line over at TGP: for the Patriarch line, are they Custom Shop in the USA just for assembly and finish, or will the woods be put together in the USA too? Folks were wondering about the laminates in particular - will the back/sides/tops/rims of those be sourced and made overseas or in the USA?

I've already written to ask them to start making old-school, melted hershey bar Polaras.
I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Stig, I'm a little confused by your terminology.

Usually the "melted Hershey bar" body shape refers to the S-200 Thunderbird. (Shown below)

The original S-100 Polara is fairly symmetrical. (Shown below)

So which is the guitar you'd like to see Guild re-introduce?

I'm liking what I'm hearing from Mike L too!

Guildman63, I don't see the video posted anywhere in this thread. Maybe I missed it again when double checking or perhaps it appeared in another thread.

Sorry, had a brain fart. The Thunderbird. But I'll take either, really

Well from what I've been hearing, you're not the only one that would like to see the Thunderbird reissued.

How would you all feel about it being manufactured in Korea?

Hmm, it's true that vintage thunderbirds are going for Patriarch-level prices, but that's due to rarity plus fame association. But the spirit of Gumby strikes me more of that funky oddball pawnshop find kinda vibe, so it feels like it belongs in the entry level MIK group, for all the kids who want to be The Black Keys and such.

The DeArmond release of the thunderbirdish one in the 90s didn't dent the real deal Thunderbird at all, so I don't think it would dilute a single thing to have this released as an MIK. That said, I'd love to see an MIK version of the Starfire V first, maybe with a Feist tie-in for the hipster folk out there. An ES-335ish guild with bigsby and master volume might do very well at the MIK price point. And if they put out an MIK SFV, it would be totally awesome to have a Patriarch version available, so I can get a Blackfire V all dolled up custom-like!
