Not to highjack this thread or anything... =} ...but in the great ELECTRIFIED, THE ART OF THE CONTEMPORARY GUITAR by Robert Shaw (no, not THAT Robert Shaw), the luthier Juha Ruokangas of Finland states he has found the best material for guitar nuts is wild moose shinbone..."these are big and heavy animals with long legs, and the bones have evolved to be extremely dense and strong." "It's a great-sounding, dense and greasy bone that in my opinion works better than fossilized ivory or equivalent materials." (pp 116-117)

OK Stefan, get out there and harvest us some moose! (Lets see, if a Finnish Reindeer is the equivalent of a Canadian Caribou, then a Finnish Moose must equal a Canadian Moose, no?)

Coastie, I will make the field-command-decision that you shall be the first to sample said shin-bones!

Sorry guys, not sure if I have had too much coffee this morning or not enough...back to the great D55 debate.

The day you pay for my guitars I'll do it your way. Otherwise since its my money I'll do it my way! Have been for years.. I also don't care if it makes sense to you because sometimes there can be intellectual differences! No offense!:victorious:

Friends still ???

Hey there is no need to get snarky here, especially towards the grand reverend Joe. It is one thing to continually start non sense threads that go nowhere and make no sense, but to mouth off is a bit too much. There are many, myself included, that have defended you and your ways, but you are now starting to cross a line. Be careful.

Still friends old man?

It seems that the collorary (sp?) is that if a free-range chicken tastes better, a wild moose should sound better...???

Now I would understand that a live moose could be happier than a dead moose, but it would probably be hard to get a live one to lay his leg over the headstock of your guitar...willingly or quietly?

It was stated in another thread that kbob is one that likes expensive guitars, but who does not know much about the instrument, which probably decribes me as well. That being said, I definitely knows what sounds good to me, and I am pretty sure I am able to inspect a new guitar adequately for defects. Just another shish-kbob thread that gives me a headache. At least we know the D55 tone was appreciated, which means he is not completely crazy.

Well Bill, I can sweet-talk sheep; one of them Mooses shouldn't be a much greater problem.

Do you Americans have Totoya Collora's over there ?

Oh, Coastie, you are putting my lipids into a frenzy! They cannot even be assembled into a panel now! Administer one D55, stat!

Corollas seem to be overshadowed by Elantras, at least in this immediate area (oh sorry, i30's to you an our other South Sea friends)

Bill, frenzied lipids are a huge problem on the big jobs ! And, it's said, they can't change their spots.

Geez you've got it bad; wild Mooses, frenzied lipids. Hope you don't have angry Crowleys !!

Over on the "Let's Talk Remington" board they swear by "Come-a-hither" synthetic she-moose pheromones.
It's $133.00 an ounce, but you probably only need a tiny drop on the back of the headstock.
If I bought a new guitar, it would come to me, first. My luthier, or anyone else for that matter, would have to wait until I checked it out. It might be a loose analogy but it makes me think of having someone else open my birthday presents before I get to see them.
In counterpoint I've taken to having my manservant taste all my meals lately to guard against accidental (or even intentional) poisoning.
