I had to return a bag of apples to the customer service counter at the supermarket today. The line up was long. There were two tills at the counter, but both were staffed because the store was very busy.

While I stood waiting, I thought about the apples, most of which had rotten cores. This got me into a negative frame of mind, and I began to reflect on what a miserable couple of years the last few have been, deaths and illnesses in the family, world chaos, badly battered mutual funds, etc.

I was feeling pretty grim by the time I got up to the counter.

The clerk asked, “How can I help you today?”

I answered, “I think I am probably beyond help.”

The clerk said, “Please choose the other till.”

If I had $$$ to travel I would like to spend a day, or more, exploring a medieval castle and grounds. None of the behind the velvet rope stuff, I want to go everywhere.
I went to France in 2012. I have a bunch of pics of various castles, structures. Where you want to go to is Mont-Saint-Michel.

Also, in some of the oldest castles, the scale is for men who were 5'2" and women who were 4'10" at full growth, so that can be a bit surprising.

That place fascinates me SO MUCH!! Not gonna go, but still. I won't take my bicycle, though. 🚲

Virtual Castle Tours

There is, of course, some overlap between the lists.

So the other night my wife's friend called and talked to me until one A.M. Usually when I have less than 5 hours sleep I don't have the same weird dreams as when I get my normal 7 hours of sleep. However, I had an extremely vivid one in which I'd discovered that the Three Stooges were actually serial killers. Curley was with them, so at least Shemp, my favorite, wasn't part of their killing spree.
Now if I could figure how I could make this into a song,,,

The above beaver clip is strangely relaxing.

It could be me, with a stack of graham crackers though. If nobody was watching.
Yes I have been known to knock over a packet of Jaffa Cakes in one sitting.

Interesting reading about Jaffa cakes history - they are concidered cake and not bisquits - thus lower tax.

Over here they are called jaffa keksi - keksi = bisquit or cookie - no idea of their tax.
