My neighbor texted me the other day and said she'll be making a resolution for 2023 to stop putting things off as she had this year.
I replied that's funny--I'd just made the very same one for 2030!

I really should take the Christmas tree down but I like the lights and sparkly decorations.
My only decoration this year is a wreath on the front door that I hung and plugged in. Easy. And now the porch light has gone out and requires a very specific bulb.... a trip to Lowes which I'm pretty much avoiding. So the wreath is taking the place of the porch light. This could get very ugly......

We leave the tree up until Epiphany (12 days of Christmas and all that). I have a friend who puts up the tree the day after Thanksgiving and takes it down the day after Christmas.

I've always hated that. I prefer waiting to put the tree and decorations up and leaving it up longer. This year I was ready to start the Christmas carols and everything by Thanksgiving and I'm not ready to finish with them anytime soon

I was talking to my (adult) son on the phone yesterday.

He asked me a question, "Do you know why I named my pet termite, Clint?"

With some trepidation, I replied, "Uhhh ... No, I do not."

He said, "Well ... because Clint eats wood."

I thought to myself, "Whoah! What's going on here? That's a dad joke."

Eventually the tables turn, I guess.

I live in dread of the eventual "Shut up and eat your boiled sprouts, Dad" conversation.

I'm enjoying an IPA I brought home from VT and I never really liked IPAs before. Though I still hate that really super hoppy stuff.

Been gloomy and cloudy and dark for the last 4 days here. Rained a day ago. They say more tomorrow. Fine with me. I'm sick of shoveling sunshine..... for real. 🌦️🌦️

Funny, the other night I also had an IPA from Vermont brought to Virginia by a friend. Nicely balanced and aromatic but not bitter (even though I also like super hoppy).

Getting solar quotes that are running slightly more than 1K Ameros a panel. Apparently, I use so little electricity, I fall below the lease option, which is fine.

That thought occurs that I haven't fired up an amp in a couple of years. Maybe that's why?

My golf buddy, an older gentleman, always tells me how low his electric bill is with his solar panels. He always fails to mention the 25k he spent on them, the 20k he spent on the first array, and 7k they charged to remove and reinstall the panels so he could get his roof replaced.

Roof would be replaced beforehand. I have an estimate on $14.5K for a 5.8KW system and $22K on a 6KW system.

Plastic wreath? Just spray paint the whole thing gold.
