Ok. So after supper I subtly disappeared into “The Room”, that secret room that only my trusted butler Alfred knows about, and stood amongst all my guitars. I thought hard about which ones to sell to pay for the resophonic violin. Oh maybe after three or four minutes, I turned the light off, exited the room and retired back to my recliner. I can retrieve enough coins under my furniture cushions to buy the harmonica instead….🤷‍♂️
You chose wisely. Honestly, it takes over a year just to get one good clean note out of a violin. It might be the hardest instrument to learn there is. When I was a kid getting private lessons in my parents' living room every sat morning, my oldest brother, who probably just got home from some party hours before, was regularly seen leaving the house, blanket/pillow in hand, to go sleep in the car. He said it sounded like cats f#%*ing! And I had already been playing for 3-4 years by then!

Doesn't the violin make a difference? Yours sound deep and rich. Just a few months ago there was a gal playing one in a parking lot (in the heat - I thought she was nuts) with an amplifier, and while she seemed to be an accomplished violinist she sounded shrill and tinny. Could it have been her amp settings? Her instrument? Her technique?

Most likely a cheap violin/bow, cheap pickup/mic, and cheap portable amp. I would sound shrill and tinny on her's and she would sound deep and rich on mine....which of course was running through a two amp in stereo w/ added effects setup. 😉

The world may need a better mousetrap, but it also needs a durable lightweight, no-kink, no-leak water hose.
I got several of these for my 86 yr old mother because standard rubber hoses were getting too much for her to deal with. They've already lasted 6-7 years w/ little to no wear, and look to last for many years to come. They are super lightweight, expel the water when turned off, and easily coil up on any wall mounted hose reel. If you ever see them on sale, they are well worth getting!

Thank you! I'll try one, sale or not!

I got another brand, hooked it up Friday and loved everything about it! So excited to have a lightweight hose, excellent pressure, no kinks. It sprung a leak on Sunday, less than 48 hours. It has a two year warranty, but hang that - it's going back!

Ok I’m in! I actually need 4 of these. Two for my mom who’s 81 and lives by herself on the lake here. I stay a couple days a week with her to help her keep up the property. Sometimes she calls me just to come roll the hoses up! Backyard is sloped towards the water a bit, so those fat Goodyear heavy rubber hoses my stepdad had bought are a PITA to roll up. This will certainly help!

Today is National Fried Chicken Day.

Now I want fried chicken.

Thanks for the heads-up: Now I know what I'm having for lunch.

This place is a half block from my office.

<<sigh>>

The Tel Aviv fried chicken sandwich is killer. And it is already sold out for the day. I'm more than happy to make do with the "regular" fried chicken sandwich.

Confession:

I make the worst coffee. Really, no matter how I try, various methods used, it still is utter failure.

Note: When you decide to subscribe to the Circle K $5.99/mo cup a day plan, you should give up your barista dreams.
I make really good coffee. We have seven different ways to make coffee at home. Easily the most foolproof way to make a good cup of coffee is the arropress.
