The older we get
When I was young, I couldn't understand the attraction of older women. Now that I'm older - I feel as if I have awakened in a new world - one with colour where there was before only black and white - where before there was only shape, now there is definition - clarity. It's often like that with women. It's a greater appreciation for the non-tangibles. I can't tell you whether it's the voice, the guitar style, the suggestion of the songs, or even some failing of my own. Yes, I realize that on close scrutiny, Bonnie may not seem the most beautiful - but it's all the other things added in. It would be trite and unfair of me to say - "Wait until you're my age," but perhaps time brings perspective. Emmylou is another one, but she is truly a beauty and an easier understanding. Bonnie...it's an inate or gut feeling - she's something rare. But I agree with West - we've all grown older together. dbs
