I'm showing off some pictures of my well-worn, and much-loved 1967 T-100. I wish I had shots of what she looked like at the pawn shop in Northern Virginia, coated in crud and reeking of cigarette smoke. Purists may not like my custom pickguard and over-the-top tuners, but I figured that no matter what I did the guitar would not be a collector's piece so I might as well please myself. And I did.

Comments?

Hi Coffeeman; nice-looking guitar ... tone and playability first. How about treating us to some pics of the Guild Masteramp in your siggie and on the stand including some nudies / gut shots? George Benson .. Moot the Hoople ... what do you get for tone out of it?

Pictures of the amp coming up, now that I've got some idea about how to post images. Obviously, I've got some tweaking to do so that people can actually see the pics without a magnifying glass!

Re: sound ~ you can totally get the Benson thing going with this one - and tremolo adds some Crystal Blue Persuasion into the mix. I'll post detailed pix shortly.

Tried to look at a pick by cutting and pasting, got a "403 forbidden" error. Is that a public folder?

Yep... Just not familiar with all the dropdowns you have to check in the up loading process. I think these are better:

Oh, yeah. That's what I was wanting. I'm posting the MasterAmp pics right now in the amp forum:

Classy guitar, especially those tuners.

Thanks for the positive feedback -- thought some might think the tuners and guard are a little to Gretsch-ish.

Tuner keys look very much like the Grover Imperials on my DV72 and DV73, the tuner covers look a bit different.

Yep, they are vintage-style Grovers with the stock chrome knobs replaced with pearl-like deals. I like them because they are so oversized they seem to help zero in on the pitch. But, they have rendered by Planet Waves winder useless for string changes on this guitar.

Gorgeous guitar. Looks to be in great shape, too. How's the pickup sound?

I'm also curious about the amps tone, but I'll ask in your amp thread.

What a great guitar/amp combo... I am so drooling!

I like the pickguard. Being able to see the blonde finish and the rest of the f-hole highlights the nice design of the guitar, and making it true to the original shape is very cool.

Clear PGs were fairly common on some older Hofner archtops. I liked that look enough to make something similar (but vintage correct Gibson shape) for my wife's ES-125 to replace one that was warped beyond repair (unless somebody knows a way to flatten them out). It's a nice look, and if you're a player not a collector, it works!

Maybe sandwiched between two heavy pieces of glass, and left in the sun awhile ?

Maybe a layer of wax paper between the PG and the glass to keep the PG from sticking to the glass?
