Sal, I bet that was nice without the PG!! Imagine the denim one without? Woooo Hoooo!! If you read the reviews on the video, one guy says he's just floored he picked one up for $395 USD!! He said, "Bought one today. I can't believe I got a guitar that sounds this amazing for $395USD. Sounds as nice as my 2011 Taylor 414CE Fall Limited." Maybe in another year or so I can get one......

Isn't Art & Lutherie a division of Godin? Or did I make that up??

I just stumbled across that one: Martin D-28 lefty

s-l1600.jpg

Here's the listing on ebay:https://www.ebay.com/itm/Martin-D-2...dccd:g:9VwAAOSwzTFeb3-H&LH_ItemCondition=4|10

I am not in any way a Martin specialist, but boy this looks just WRONG and hurts my eyes. What do you think of it? In this case there is no imaginative story here that tries to excuse the finish...

Is it possible that this is a forgery?

compare to this: https://www.martind45guitarchina.com/sell-64594257-custom-martin-d-28-guitar-sunburst-for-sale.html

That looks like another hack job sunburst refinish on a Martin. Forgery unlikely I think because those (forgeries) usually take closer inspection to find the fault. On this one you can tell something's off immediately. I don't know what people are thinking. To me, a simple natural finish D-28 is a thing of beauty.

Good find, we've seen a similar operation that quotes custom orders for "vintage Guilds", 2 of 'em in fact, one of 'em even asks you what kind of logo you want on the headstock (Slash double-neck Crossroads pop right up on Google search).
Sounds like you're also wondering if the guitar pictured in the eBay listing could be a forgery?
Wouldn't surprise me at all.
I assume Martin fans would easily spot discrepancies between the MIC item in the photo and a genuine Martin, but think it would seem unlikely somebody would order their Minimum Order Quantity to get a batch of lefties built, but who knows?
I also note that outfit carefully covered up the top of the headstock in the photo so one can't tell whether there really is a Martin decal up there too.
There was a period when Martin realized they were unprotected from copyright infringement in China and tried to correct it but don't recall what final outcome was.
