Sad news, but at least some things went right. The rep had the part, the doc took care of it very promptly and you are now on the road to recovery.

And yes, if you have to be laid up for an extended period, now is a very good time! The isolation could be a blessing.

Hang in there, take advantage of all the playing time!

What fun! NOT!!!

Seems like "hurt on the job" ought to qualify. Check with an attorney.

Made my eyes water just reading about it - I had a 'half-knee' replacement in 2013.

Being your girlfriend, one'd kinda have to come to that conclusion.

Same like mine.

So like, does this knee thing lower your bluebook value?
Conclusion ? Ah I am pretty desperate do I could be just saying that to convince myself it’s a good thing . Lol

I think everyone’s BB value is down I hoping to get lost in the crowd ! 😁

Ray, so sorry this happened to you and wish you a full recovery.

I am afraid you may have to lawyer-up on this...my brief story, I work as a "contractor" at a state facility here in MA. When I signed up years ago, I distinctly remember a clause where if you get hurt you are on your own have no insurance through them...fair enough, always had BC/BS. Flash to end of August, (stupid stupid!) fell about 5 feet off step ladder, whacking file cabinet on way to the deck. Did NOT land on my recently replaced hip. Thought I broke all my ribs! Didn't call HR of fill out report, called my own PC and went to local hospital for xrays. Next day I get call from HR saying she had already called around, had all my bills taken care of with Workman's Comp and NOT to pay anything that comes but to bring it to her. HUH? I don't fit, and she's doing this for me? Needless to say, I filled out anything she asked me to...

I know you are not in MA so maybe you have different rules there. This lady was not with our division when I joined, but she said we ALWAYS have had to be covered by workman's comp, no matter what we signed way back when. And that is that!

My son has had some trouble with our state workmen's comp with payments, but it was always the billing party messed something up, he was covered, they are willing to pay, "have them send us the right documentation...or call me!"

Best of luck, man...

I see a map of Santa Catalina Island, you know, about 25 miles south of Long Beach, CA?

But more to the point:

I hope you heal up quickly and can make the trip soon. It's been 47 years since i was there.

The Filipinos are some of the nicest, most hospitable people I've met anywhere in the world.

Yeah let’s hope . All this mess is killing my wallet . They are super nice , they want me to stay them instead of a hotel and if I want to go somewhere one of them will come with me so I know what I’m getting myself into and of course it will be hard for me heat wise . No A/c no plumbing .
And I’ll need to fall in love with hand wash Bidet , pour wash ,poor rinse . Lol

The knee had a lifetime warranty, for the life of the knee. Knee breaks when warranty expires.

Man, these bodies, we're on borrowed time, anything could get you.

I'm still on the original knees, but three knee scopes. Like I said, borrowed time.

No shit I injured the second knee doing psychotic PT running sideways on a treadmill in a sling, so I did claim an "accident" because I knew right when it happened, and I was on LI for the 1st knee, but had to open a case for the 2nd knee. They said it would never fly but it did.

I went in to see the doc and he said, "so which is it, the right knee, the left knee, or the wee knee?"

;]
